Original mixed media work · wood canvas · 16 × 21 × 2 cm · signed and dated includes Certificate of Authenticity · one of one unique work
Through the image of the beloved pomegranate, powerful homage is expressed to all those who were fallen and forcibly displaced with the 2020 war and 2023 Mass Exodus. The monumental landscape of the ancestors cannot be left behind. We carry the landscape of our homeland, its peaks, valleys, its resilience through the centuries, deep within ourselves. When land is seized, we ourselves become the mountains. This preserved wooden landscape collection highlights a sense of permanence within the event we witnessed where, before our eyes, history, people and culture were lost.
Freedom (Pomegranate), 16 × 21 × 2 cm, mixed media acrylic and oil pastel on canvas, 2023
